Location

La Petite Grange, our French gite rental, is located on the edge of the Charente village of Oradour Fanais near to the lovely 'petite cite' of Confolens.  The village has a grocery shop (selling fresh bread, wine, and most of the 'essentials') and a bar hosting regular live musical events. There is also a post office, electric car charging station and petrol pump.

Near to the self-catering accommodation is the larger village of Availles Limouzine with patisserie/boulangerie, butchers, mini market and cash point.  Larger supermarkets can be found in Confolens & Bellac with an abundance of restaurants and shops. Confolens has the river Vienne with kayaking and pedalos, along with Velo rail. Approx. 45 min drive is the large Plan D'Eau de la Grand Prairie. 70 hectares of lake, playgrounds, picnic areas, walking, swimming, windsurfing, canoeing, fishing and much more. Also nearby is the Circuit du Val de Vienne a 3,279 km motor racing circuit. The track hosts a number of prestigious events throughout the year.

Futurescope Theme Park, Les Vallee des Singes (unique wildlife

park specialising in primates), Oradour-sur-Glane (martyr village), Chateau de Rochefaucauld, Cassinomagus (archaelogical site), Chateau de Rochebrune and much, much more are all within an

approximate hours drive.
